Thanks for visiting Smith's American
Bulldogs. I have been involved with American Bulldogs for nearly 10 years. I was originally drawn to the powerful appearance
and beauty of the breed, but became more deeply involved as my friendships with fellow enthusiasts developed.
I have been attending shows nearly from the beginning, after being invited by Jerry Leist, who has since become my closest
friend in AB's, and one of my "inner circle" of friends in general. I began attending with Cleo, my hybrid female that started
me on this wild ride. After meeting and bonding with Kenny McCallister early on, I was then lucky enough to get a Mufassa
X Totty son (Tank) who became an ABNA Champion. After finishing Tanks Championship, I began apprenticing to become an ABNA
judge, since I needed a reason to attend the shows and see my friends. During this time I was nominated by Kevin Wiegand,
who has also become one of my closest friends in the AB world, to become a representative with the ABNA. After being voted
in, I proudly served the ABNA and came up with some ideas to help increase show attendance, and I am finally seeing some of
these ideas implemented, even though I resigned last year. I still continue to judge with the ABNA and support them in any
way possible. Over the past 2 years I have judged ABNA shows in Germany, England and The Netherlands (twice). I also judged
the Standard Class at the ABNA Nationals 2007. I am hoping to begin apprenticing with the NKC during the next show season.
As of November 2007, Smith's Tricky Dick (Nixon) followed in his sire and dams footsteps by finishing his ABNA Championship,
while winning Best In Class, Best Male, Best In Show and Best In Breed at the ABNA Nationals which was held at Purina Farms,
St. Louis, MO. I also have some young up and comers to look out for in the future.
My goal is to breed a big, bully, yet functional and athletic American Bulldog with excellent conformation and so far
my goals are being met and exceeded. I do not desire to become the biggest breeder, but do desire to become one of the best.
If interested in any breedings, feel free to contact me by phone or email.
